A joint request from the Region and Anci Sicilia to ask the competent ministries to refinance the “Pac-Pnscia anziani e infanzia” program that will end on June 30, 2024. This is the proposal that emerged during the meeting held this morning in the offices of via Trinacria in Palermo between the Councilor for Family, Social Policies and Labor, Nuccia Albano, and the President of the regional Anci, Paolo Amenta. “The refinancing of the program – Albano and Amenta agreed – is essential to guarantee fundamental services to citizens, such as management of nursery schools that allows a greater number of children to attend”. During the meeting, which was attended by the chief of staff of the councilor Albano, Rosolino Greco, the general manager of the Family department, Letizia Diliberti, the general secretary of Anci Sicilia, Mario Emanuele Alvano, and the regional managers Licia Guastella and Guglielmo Reale, the issue of the reform of the spending of the social-health districts was also addressed. In particular, from a monitoring it emerged that part of the financial resources available in the program have not been spent due to the structural difficulties of some of the 55 districts. To overcome this problem, the need to request an urgent meeting with the Ministry of Labor was shared. “While waiting for a necessary reform for a new and more effective governance of the social-health districts – concluded Albano and Amenta – an immediate political and legislative action is needed that allows, for an appropriate period, a derogation from the current spending mechanism, thus allowing the immediate use of resources by the Municipalities for timely access to services, in the interest of vulnerable subjects”.
