L’Inter e Simone Inzaghi they will try again to find an agreement for the contract renewal next week. This is what Corriere dello Sport found out, which takes stock of the negotiations between the parties: “There is no fixed date yet, but the idea of the Nerazzurri club and Tullio Tinti, agent of the Piacenza coach, is to resume discussions for the contract renewal, within a few days. The common goal is to close the game by the meeting, that is, July 13. And perhaps, take advantage of Simone’s press conference, scheduled for the 12th, to make the official announcement. The optimism about the timing suggests that, on both sides, there is full willingness to reach an agreement. And, after all, it couldn’t be otherwise, in light of a now very solid relationship and Inzaghi’s total integration into the Nerazzurri environment. However, there is no shortage of aspects to sort out, as emerged in the two previous meetings that took place in the space of just one week. And everything, in essence, beyond some contact, has remained at a standstill since the last one, which took place last June 12th.
The most significant knot to untie concerns the expiration of the new contract. Inzaghi, in fact, expected to arrive in 2027, thus adding another two seasons to the current constraint. Inter, on the other hand, remained stuck on an annual extension, therefore with a limit in 2026. In short, no change of habits compared to the two previous renewals, which took place in the summers of 2022 and 2023. While the Piacenza coach imagined that the recently won Scudetto could be worth an exception. Faced with such firmness, Inzaghi and Tinti have raised the stakes regarding salary and bonuses. The request is not to go below 6.5 million per year, recalibrating some bonuses upwards.
Marotta and Ausilio, at least for the moment, have slowed down. They would like not to exceed 6 million in salary (Inzaghi currently receives 5.5 million), leaving the bonuses unchanged.
