TRIESTE (ITALPRESS) – “The Rivolto airport, managed by the Air Force, is an integral part of our community. The institutions and citizens of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in fact, are particularly proud to host the men and women of the 2nd Wing, a fundamental reality for national air defense. Over time, an indissoluble bond has been created that the Region wants to continue to nurture by supporting new projects and important celebrations that will see this strategic operational unit as the protagonist for our country”.

This was stated today in Trieste by the governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia Massimiliano Fedriga during the farewell meeting with the commander of the 2nd Wing, Colonel Paolo Rubino, accompanied by Colonel Giovanni Lodato who will soon have the task of replacing him. The 2nd Wing, named in memory of the pilot captain Mario D’Agostini, is based at the Rivolto airport in the municipality of Codroipo. During the meeting, which also saw the presence of deputy governor Mario Anzil, the historical relationship between the Air Force and Friuli Venezia Giulia was recalled, a land of flight pioneers and air heroes which today sees the its highest expression at an international level in the Frecce Tricolori, an Italian symbol in the world. “With great conviction – Fedriga pointed out – we will be alongside the Air Force and the Rivolto base also on the occasion of the celebrations for the 65 years of activity of the National Acrobatic Team”. photo: Friuli Venezia Giulia Region press office (ITALPRESS). tvi/com 18-Jun-24 18:39 .
