For this reason, Mayor Bruno today sent a letter to the company, to its legal office and to ARPA Puglia, to «ask for a further evaluation, this time in extremis, of the entire affair which, in the last few hours, following the massive installation operations, has aroused further dismay and indignation among residents, but not only that” reiterates the mayor.
«Objectively the plant is located immediately behind the homes, more than in other contexts in which similar activities have previously been carried out – we read in the letter – A violent invasion of the field, difficult to justify and accept, beyond rules, procedures and authorizations.
An image damage, an environmental disfigurement, a source of concern, an alteration of the state of the places which imposes on me the heartfelt request for suspension and reevaluation of the entire project.
I reiterate my willingness to restart a discussion from scratch, based on common sense, on the possibility of identifying other sites that do not offend the dignity of the residents (and consequently of the entire community I represent) in such an impetuous manner”.
The Administration is also working on planning in the near future. «In the next few days – explains councilor Losappio – we will summon to the municipal offices the companies that have presented the plan for the locations of the antennas that will soon be installed in the city. Both, in order to be able to agree with them on the best possible location, while waiting for the municipal location plan to be updated. I repeat – concludes Losappio – that at present no other intervention is possible given that, as is known, this is a matter removed from the competences of local authorities”.
