CHIETI. Violence against women and disability. Two apparently distant themes at the center of a meeting organized yesterday in the Province by the president of the associations Teate Magnum and La Gente d’Abruzzo, Federico Gallucciin collaboration with the Antigone associations chaired by Maria Laura Of LoretoAned Abruzzo and Molise chaired by Marina Stoppani, Aie Abruzzo and Molise represented by Maria Pia PierfeliceWe include disabilities and rare diseases chaired by Anna Gloria Di Leo and Amare association of rare hematological diseases chaired by Angel Wolf.
“I wanted a meeting on two important and current issues,” explains Gallucci, “because I believe that to fight violence against women and to improve the world of disability we need to resort to the same values and, in particular, to two: the culture of respect for others and education in sensitivity. Two common denominators that find their maximum application in the university world, as the highest moment of the cultural universe. And this is the reason why I also wanted the new rector of the d’Annunzio with us. Liborio Stuppiaas well as the president of the equal opportunities commission Maria Franca D’Agostino and the involvement of institutions and politics. An involvement, however, that was rigorously transversal.”
The event was introduced by institutional greetings from the mayor of Chieti Diego Ferrara and the president of the Province Francesco Menna and saw the presence of the regional manager of Azzurro donne of Forza Italia Valeria Toppetti and the regional environmental and territory manager for FI Sarah Marcozzi, who moderated the conference. Present, among others, were the undersecretary of the regional council Daniele D’Amariothe provincial vice-coordinator of FI Andrea Buracchio and the exponents of Brothers of Italy Rocco De Marco e Carola Prophet. Gallucci acknowledged the university’s commitment to culture and values and made himself available, together with the other associations, to «support the university, from the perspective of the metropolitan area. Because”, he underlined, “it is time to abandon harmful parochialism and be able to see that Chieti can also strengthen itself and be enhanced in this dimension”. (a.i.)
