Great emotion for the ten young cyclists from Piacenza or from local teams who will fulfill their dream of riding at the opening of the Tour de France.
The young promises (five males and as many females chosen from the Allievi and Juniores categories) will lead the way on the stage of July 1st that will start from Piacenza and arrive in Turin thanks to a consolidated idea of the organizers of the Grande Boucle.
There will be three key moments in an unforgettable day for them. Like professional runners, they will be presented by the Tour de France speaker on the podium-sign in front of the public before reaching the starting line, where they will start pedaling 20 minutes before the advertising caravan parade.
Their first “task” will be to pedal (without internal competition) for the first thirty kilometers before being picked up by the official Tour de France vehicles following the stage in the “heart” of the advertising caravan. Finally, they will get back on the saddle to tackle the last thirty kilometers of the section scheduled for the champions, crossing the finish line and starting to warm up the atmosphere in view of the conclusion of the “big” teams.
Finally, they will reach the protocol podium for the ritual photos and the presentation of a souvenir medal.
WHO ARE THE YOUNG CYCLISTS WHO WILL BE THE PATHFINDER OF THE TOUR DE FRANCE
In the women’s field, Arianna Giordani (born in Piacenza in 2006) will join her Racconigi teammate Alessia Sgrisleri (born in Carpaneto in 2006); same age for Greta Pighi, from Piacenza of Team Biesse Carrera where the 2009 Carpanetese Beatrice Naturani also plays. Marisol Dalla Pietà (2006) from Alessandria of Bft Burzoni VO2 Team Pink concludes the pink quintet. In the men’s field, the addition is that of the Piacenza biker Junior Elia Rial (Team Scott), who joins the Pontenure students Riccardo Conti and Nicolas Achilli, while the Pedale Castellano will be present with the students Riccardo Pagani (originally from Rottofreno) and Massimo Daturi, from Pavia in the Valtidone association.
