One of the Chinese cars that will scare the competition is the BYD hybrid model. A complete revolution in the sector that proposes to complete the Naples-Madrid route with a single tank of fuel.
The new model A hybrid WORLD it’s literally scary. The Shenzhen company is able to create a vehicle capable of traveling further two thousand kilometers with a single tank. The model is the Chinese sedan Qin L DM-i that would allow you to leave from Naples and reach Madrid without making any stops.
The Chinese car BYD Qin L DM-i is capable of intimidating even industry leaders such as Tesla Motors. A single refueling and 2,100 km (simulating the Naples – Madrid route), a record never seen before.
The first hybrid BYD that travels 2,100 km on a single tank
The Chinese BYD Qin L DM-i sedan is a vehicle equipped with a plug-in hybrid system fifth generation. In theory – then there are many factors that influence consumption – it can travel up to 2,100 kilometers on a single tank: from Naples to Madrid and from Milan to Lisbon without the need to stop.
The surprising result is given by the implementation of artificial intelligence capable of optimizing the work of the combustion engine and the electric one, improving it the performance and consequently optimize consumption.
Comparing this new model to the four-wheeled versions but without artificial intelligence, superior performance and a hybrid engine emerge reliable ed efficient.
Hybrid petrol engine
Among the most fearsome Chinese models, this one stands out: the BYD Qin L DM-i hybrid sedan with a 1.5-liter petrol engine, 100 HP of power and a torque of 126 Nm. There is also a version with a 217 HP electric motor and zero emissions up to 120 km (which mounts a 15.8 kWh battery).
To allow a range of up to 2,100 with a single tank, the Chinese company had to increase the capacity of the tank (it is not known exactly how much). In China this little gem could cost as little as our €12,000 / €17,000.
CLTC cinese
A very important observation concerns the results that emerged from the test of the BYD Qin L DM-i, whose autonomy was declared based on the Chinese homologation cycle CLTC and not our European WLTP.
The difference essentially consists in road tests: the Chinese cycle is based on three types of driving, slow, medium and fast. The CLTC on the other hand emulates driving conditions in China, imposing speed limits (minimum and low) lower than ours and with more frequent decelerations and accelerations.
For the more curious in Italy (North) there are 13 BYD showrooms. By the end of the year the Chinese company would like to have a total of 40, so as to expand the visibility of the brand and increase sales throughout our peninsula.
