The negotiations between Napoli and Torino for Alessandro Buongiorno are becoming increasingly tense. Yesterday evening, the sporting director of the Campania club, Giovanni Manna, met with the defender’s agent, Beppe Riso, to try to reach an agreement at least with the player. The proposal put on the table by the Campania club is extremely interesting: Buongiorno is ready for a five-year contract with a salary of 3.5 million plus bonuses, in addition to the possibility of competing for important objectives. Because Napoli’s objective, after a season to forget, is to return to fighting for the Scudetto and be a protagonist in the Champions League.
Torino Transfer Market: Napoli Accelerates for Buongiorno
Riso listened to Napoli’s offer and passed it on to his client who, in the meantime, had just started his holidays after finishing his commitment to the European Championship in Germany well in advance. And it was precisely the Azzurri’s elimination from Euro 2024 that made Napoli step up their game in recent days to find an agreement to bring Buongiorno to the Azzurro. Urbano Cairo and the defender himself had in fact postponed any discussion about the future until the end of the European Championship and now the negotiations have become more intense.
New meeting between Napoli and Torino
In the next few days a new contact between Manna and Vagnati is expected, with Napoli ready to raise their offer and reach 35 million, a figure still lower than Torino’s requests (Cairo would like to collect around 45 million but still no less than 40 from the sale of the center) but certainly closer. Napoli is in a hurry to close the deal and Antonio Conte hopes to be able to welcome Buongiorno as soon as possible.
