Frascati – Stop writings, scribbles and degradation: “Muri Puliti”, the fundraiser of the Retake group, begins

We have written about it many, many times, often recounting news events or simply reporting the reports received from the many citizens of Frascati afflicted by rampant vandalism. Smeared walls, full of writings, drawings, stickers and so on and so forth.

A phenomenon that affects both the suburbs and the center of the city, a destination for visitors and tourists who come to the Tusculan town to enjoy the natural and artistic beauties that Frascati offers. The villas, the walls of the municipal parks, the buildings in the most characteristic streets, doors, facades: everything is targeted without being a precise objective but simply a piece of the city to be used at will, as if it had no value, as if everything was allowed.

A phenomenon which, to tell the truth, affects many cities practically everywhere and on which it would certainly be interesting to exercise a deeper reflection and which today we are returning to face because the volunteers of the Retake group from Frascati have launched an interesting initiative to redevelop the city: a fundraising campaign to purchase the material needed to clean and repaint the walls of Frascati.

“And now. The writings on the walls of Frascati are many, too many.

This vandalism – the volunteers write – accelerates degradation and does enormous damage to commerce, tourism and the quality of life for residents. Today we launch Clean walls, a collected campaign. Every euro is appreciated, even with €5 we can work miracles!

The city of Frascati is rich in history and characteristic monuments, which are unfortunately in an inadequate state of conservation, as there are also many walls smeared with tags and graffiti, writings and stickers.

Our goal is to redevelop the walls most affected by this type of vandalism and, by repainting them, bring them back to new condition because we are certain that in this way we will make Frascati more beautiful and cleaner.

For this project, we will need paint, brushes, rollers, buckets, protective plastic, scotch tape, gloves and everything from painters; to buy them, we need all of you. Every donation, small and large, will be precious. Thank you!”

RETAKE VOLUNTEERS
