It started at They throwthis morning, the preliminary phase of the trial for the death of Annamaria D’Eliseo60 years old, which took place on 15 July 2022. Her husband, Aldo Rodolfo Di Nunzio72 years old, is accused of aggravated voluntary homicide and defended by lawyers Alberto Paone And Nicola De Fuoco. The former fire inspector is imprisoned in Teramo; according to his accusation, the man strangled his wife with electric wires in the cellar-garage of the house, then simulating a suicide. The autopsy did not clarify the cause of death. The defense claims that it is a “circumstantial trial without conclusive evidence”.
During the hearing, it emerged that the accused was undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder and his wife for depression. The police found no signs of a struggle or hooks in the garage for a possible suicide. Di Nunzio was arrested on January 11, nailed by audio that appears to contain his wife’s screams, although the defense disputes the presence of a female voice.
The Court of Assizes rejected the request for release and the Review confirmed this decision. Civil parties are the victim’s five children and the association Dafne Ets. The next hearing is scheduled for July 5th. Further testimonies from the Ris carabinieri of Rome and the scientific unit are expected on that date.
