Devid Ricci, the 47-year-old firefighter resident in Fagnano Olona, who fell from the ladder truck from around four meters while with his colleagues he was removing some unsafe branches in via Monte Grappa. The firefighter is hospitalized in intensive care. According to what has been learned, in the violent impact on the ground he suffered a fracture of the cervical vertebrae.

At the same time, the mayor Matteo Monti already on Wednesday evening signed an urgent ordinance for the closure of via Monte Grappa, ordering at the same time that «the owner of the land shall ensure without any delay the safety and restoration of the places with the associated additional burden of carry out a static verification survey and any other fulfillment necessary for the safe reopening of the road”.
In the three pages of the provision we read that “as early as January 2024, a warning had already been issued to the owner of the land above the roadway via Montegrappa”. The municipal road is therefore closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the stretch between number 62 and number 71 until the end of the emergency.
