Queues and traffic in a complicated start to the weekend for Ligurian motorists and for those arriving from outside the region Liguria. Construction sites on the motorways of the Genoa hub and the weekend began yesterday amidst inconveniences, with traffic congested on a Friday afternoon with a red flag on the A12blocked by Nerves towards the east due to problems related to the flow of cars exiting the toll booth Rapallowith queues that reached 9 kilometers.

But the flows towards the coasts will increase in the coming weeks, hoping for clement weather, and they will have to deal with some residual construction sites, lane changes and works that cannot be postponed.
The update of the periodic monitoring table between the Region and the motorway concessionaires is awaited, the last one dating back to the period of 25 April-1st May, shortly before the region was overwhelmed by the investigation that beheaded its leaders. The “big one” risks being the traffic in Liguria itself, in a period of apparent calm which could end up having repercussions also on the ordinary activity of managing the motorway situation.
As regards the Genoa hub, the main congested areas concern theA26 motorwayfrom Ovada to Masone, the Achilles’ heel for those arriving in Liguria from the north, and then at times the routes towards Voltri until to Riviera di Ponenteand the A7 for those who are headed towards the crossroads that lead to Levant.
On the A10, the stretch near Celle towards Varazze in the direction of Genoa remains critical, where the construction site still present is causing delays from Monday to Friday which risk worsening at the weekend.
What is still missing is a shared coordination plan for the summer which provides, as has been the case for years now, for easing, particularly on the most critical weekends and in conjunction with the great summer exodus, despite monitoring remaining constant.
Between impactful construction sites and night-time closures, it still remains to be clarified what the summer layout of the main works will be to allow the flow of traffic during hot hours on the routes which still have carriageway limitations which create inevitable traffic problems, operations which are mostly postponed during the week and at night.
