It’s scheduled Tuesday 25 June at 4.30 pm in the room of the Municipal Library “G. Chickpeas” the conference on the theme “Social Emergency Response: positive actions and future visions”. Organized and promoted by the Social and educational services, welfare, family policies, protection of minors, non-self-sufficiency, adult hardship and poverty sector, directed by Dr. Irene Turturo, the conference aims to be an opportunity for reflection and discussion on the topic of poverty in Andria and on emergency intervention models to deal with the serious difficulties of families and the homeless.
Social emergency intervention is an essential level of social benefits established by law and provided for in the local social plan and in Andria it has been active for over 15 years, with the active collaboration of third sector bodies and associations.
Since last year, the network of organizations has been strengthened (led by the MigrantesLiberi Social Solidarity Cooperative) and the services that can be activated, through a co-planning process and dedicated funding.
The innovative procedure has allowed us to focus on strategic elements of intervention, fully enhancing the skills and human resources that are directly involved in street service, in contact with extreme marginalization.
The social emergency intervention mainly deals with offering immediate support to those in difficulty through the supply of basic necessities, hot meals, clothing, night-time reception and personal hygiene services, listening, orientation and consultancy.
On this occasion one will be presented app multilingual to make access to services easier for citizens, immigrants and seasonal workers temporarily present in the area.
