ROME – “The Lazio Regional Council today approved the authorization for the transfer of regionally owned land located in the Municipality of Acquapendente to the Viterbo Local Health Authority for the construction of the new hospital. An essential step to be able to implement the important investment that the Lazio Region has made in the healthcare construction sector, with the construction of five new hospitals in Lazio, including that of Acquapendente. It is in fact a strategic garrison for the entire Alta Tuscia area and essential to ensure a renewed development of regional and provincial healthcare, through the strengthening of the hospital network in support of the Belcolle hospital in Viterbo, together with the hospitals of Civita Castellana and Tarquinia. With the new hospital in Acquapendente it will be possible to give full concreteness to the planning of the new hospital network in Lazio by increasing the number of beds and improving the offer of services. The regional council has clearly demonstrated that it wants to return to strengthening local healthcare both in structural terms and by investing in technological development, the quality of services and the enhancement of professionalism and healthcare personnel. We thank the regional councilor for Heritage Fabrizio Ghera and the regional council for today’s important step, made possible also thanks to the excellent work of the extraordinary commissioner of the Viterbo Local Health Authority Egisto Bianconi, who will now be able to allow the relevant process to start ”.
