Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree: Miyazaki talks about the number of DLC endings

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree it will be the first and last expansion of Elden Ring, as we have already reported, so players will have to find a way to get the best out of it, for example by discovering every secret and seeing every the final. Speaking of the latter, how many will there be in this DLC? Certainly more than one, but we shouldn’t expect as many as the base game.

In a recent interview with a Chinese newspaper, zhuanlan-zhihu, Miyazaki confirmed that the number of endings of Shadow of the Erdtree will be lower than that of the base game. Remember that Elden Ring offers six different endings, so the DLC will have a maximum of five.

Miyazaki also states that players will be called upon to make choices in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, although he doesn’t specify what that means. It could simply indicate that, as in the base game, once we reach the ending we will be able to decide which conclusion to start depending on what we discovered in the base game.

Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree: how do they interact?

Another important detail to note is that Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree do not affect each other: the actions we take within the base game will have no impact on the DLC and vice versa. This is an understandable choice, as it would be quite complex to combine the two contents. Furthermore, we will not find the characters from the base game in the DLC, since the player can eliminate certain NPCs at almost any time.

Miyazaki also recently commented on the way difficulty and progression is handled in Shadow of the Erdtree.

Finally, we remind you that the expansion will be available from June 21st on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S and will cost €39.99.
