Indeed, the GSX-R 1000 is now out of production in Japan too, the only market in which this bike could still be ordered. As far as Italy is concerned, it has already been several years since one of the most iconic Suzuki motorcycles was no longer present on the market, and now, even in the homeland there will be nothing left to do to obtain it as a new product.

There Suzuki Over the course of the last few years, the GSX-R 1000 was sold only in some markets, starting with Japan, then moving to Canada, Australia and the United States of America. In the last hours, it has emerged that, on the Japanese company’s website, this model is no longer on salewhile on the other three markets it can still be ordered, but as reported on the website “InSella.it“, it is difficult to say for how long, given the less stringent regulations, but which could soon be taken to the extreme and make it unusable.
The GSX-R is a maxi super sports bike, which made its debut way back in 1985, and was immediately seen as a revolutionary motorcycle, with the 750 cc version. It had 100 horsepower of maximum power, weighing just 201 kg, and considering that we are talking about almost 40 years ago, this was exceptional data. The Suzuki we are talking about had exceptional success both in terms of sales and in the racing world, and was then joined by the GSX-R 1100, with new air-oil cooling.
In 1996 the new generation appeared with the air induction system in the SRAD airbox, a crazy evolution that raised the bar on the sports car front. Suzuki has therefore built a true legend, and saying goodbye to it will certainly not be easy. The Japanese company has made a very complicated decision, but one which the new emissions regulations have made mandatory.
