UDINE – The investigation into the cell phone of Patrizia Cormos, a technical assessment necessary to avoid possible deterioration and its unusability in the event of a trial. The phone of the girl who died last May 31st following the flood of the Natisone it was the only element found during the search operations, therefore considered useful in order to reconstruct the time interval between the first request for help sent by the young woman at 1.29pm, when the first (albeit very short) call to the Nue 112, and the arrival of the first rescue team.

Yesterday in the forensic computer laboratory in Udine there were present, in addition to the appointed experts, Patrizia’s mother, Bianca’s sister and Petru Radu, Cristian’s brother, the last missing person in the tragedy for which the search remains open for the twenty-second day.

The investigation was ordered by the Prosecutor’s Office at the request of the public prosecutor Letizia Puppa who is following the investigation file opened for manslaughter, currently still against unknown persons. In practice, a forensic copy of everything inside the phone was carried out. The collected material will then be transferred to a computer medium delivered to the Carabinieri who will entrust it to the Prosecutor’s Office to carry out checks. «There is no visibility at the moment of what is inside» says the lawyer Gaetano Laghi, who assists the Molnar family «we only checked that this operation of opening the exhibit and transferring the data was done correctly , how was it”. The operation was carried out in the presence of the party consultant Roberto Di Donato and, for the public prosecution, Roberto Capone.
There are two essential pieces of data to shed light on: the times and the number of phone calls made to 112. According to the information that has emerged so far, four calls were made from the girl’s cell phone. More than a request for help, therefore, which was also accompanied by the hypothesis that more than one operator from the central emergency room had answered the phone. «From their mobile phone they will have proof to be able to compare if they have taken photos, messages and phone calls. They will cross-reference the data, check if anyone left late and why” continues Laghi. However, reading the cell phone could provide a narrative of the hours preceding the arrival of the three friends on the Natisone, however it is clear that the attention of the investigators is determined to shed light on what happened shortly before the tragedy. “My essential data is when the emergency calls were made” comments the lawyer.
Cristian’s research
Yesterday the new provisions for the searches for Cristian, which will continue – at least until Thursday next week when a new summit in the Prefecture will define whether or not to remodulate the forces in the field – limited to the external part of the Natisone river, since the seabed has already been mapped in previous dives. The protocol decided yesterday in the presence of the prefect and the people in charge of the searches also provides for a remodeling of the operational rescue unit, which will favor the support of molecular dogs, concentrated mostly on the banks. The dogs’ acute olfactory ability could in fact give a turning point to the checks that will probe the area between the Leproso bridge in Orsaria and the confluence with the Torre. «I have no technical expertise on how they are proceeding with the research. I simply take note of what has been decided and I hope they find the boy as soon as possible” declares the lawyer.
