The first areas to be inspected were Pradaval and the walkway that from the station it leads to Corso Porta Nuova. It is a new project of the Department of Security to map areas and places in the territory that require lighting interventions to make them safer.

The novelty concerns in particular the chosen method, i.e. an integrated approach that sees together Municipality, Amia and Agsm Aim Smart Solution for the relevant part, the local police and, where necessary, a representative of the police headquarters.
The will is to intervene in a coordinated manner to rationalize time and resources, but above all to resolve any critical situations and anticipate others.

During the inspection of the places, selected on the basis of the risk indicators and the requests of the Police and Prefecture, it is verified whether the area in question is sufficiently illuminated according to safety criteriatherefore which elements can be improved such as the presence of trees, whose leaves often cover part of the lighting systems, or a more efficient positioning of lights with respect to its attendance.
The inspections will continue in the next few days on the Santa Lucia cycle path and in some areas of Borgo Venezia. In the meantime, councilor Zivelonghi has asked the presidents of the constituencies for the reports on areas less covered by lightinggreen areas, gardens, cycle/pedestrian paths or meeting points within neighborhoods.
«We give ourselves the time we need to complete the project – explains the Security Councillor Stefania Zivelonghi -. After that, with the resources available in the budget and after a discussion with the council, we will start with the interventions. The novelty of the project is that for the first time we are proceeding with an integrated approach, involving all the sectors responsible for public lighting and, in this specific case, safety”.
