We have already seen David Corenswet in the role of Superman and yet the “human” identity of James Gunn’s new Man of Steel was still missing. Hurry up: the new photos stolen from the set of Superman show us Clark Kent!
Superman’s human counterpart usually wears glasses and a slightly different hairstyle from the superhero’s hair, more elegant and composed. But it seems that for James Gunn this should remain only a memory because in the first image we see Clark Kent with unruly curls that fall on his forehead. Even the glasses are a decidedly interesting detail (a round frame that is reminiscent of Christopher Reeve’s Clark Kent) without taking your eyes off the imposing physicality of David Corenswet who, wrapped in a suit and tie, carries with him a copy of the Daily Planet.
Scrolling through social media it is clear that everything the fandom expected a completely different Clark Kent and that what James Gunn has in store for the reboot of the DCU, for the moment, does not generate too enthusiastic comments. We just have to wait for further images from the set (perhaps) to accept the new look of the heroic editor of the Daily Planet but for the moment we can console ourselves with the first images of Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.
