The character played by Rami Malek in No Time to Die received mixed reviews after the release of Daniel Craig’s latest James Bond film, but before its debut in theaters it had inevitably aroused the curiosity of many also thanks to that singular mask. Precisely the latter was the cause of a singular misunderstanding.

In the film for which a song by Lana Del Rey was rejected, in fact, we see Rami Malek’s Safin wearing (for reasons that are obviously revealed during the last chapter of the 007 saga) a particular mask called Noh (in Japanese Nō): this is a type of mask used in Japanese theater and made from cypress wood, which is then painted during manufacturing.

The most knowledgeable fans on the subject, therefore aware of the way in which masks like the one worn by Malek in the film are called, therefore immediately connected the thing to the Dr. Julius Nohistorical 007 villain created by Ian Fleming for his novel License to Kill and appeared in the historical film of the same name with Sean Connery.

Many, therefore, fell into the mistake of believing that Malek’s character was a new transposition of theiconic James Bond villain: let’s hope they weren’t too disappointed once they went to the room! In the meantime, we leave you our review of No Time to Die here.

On HOUSE OF THE DRAGON SEASON 1 (BS) It is one of today’s best sellers.
