here is the robot that becomes a car

If you have dreamed of being able to truly experience the adventures of the famous Transformers since you were a child, you are in the right place! They really invented it, for real!

For the new generations, the myth of the Transformers certainly originates from the successful saga of Michael Bay, famous for his spectacular and often exaggerated films, who in 2007 created a very successful cinematic transition of this franchise, accompanied by sequels, spin-offs dedicated to the various characters and, inevitably, many dreamers who they hope one day to get their hands on a car that becomes a robot like in the movies.

The truth, however, is that this lucky product was born already in 1984 when Hasbro and Takara Tomy, in collaboration, launched the very first models of those toys who will become the Transformers. The concept of a normal car – but not only a fire truck or an ambulance – suddenly transforming into a humanoid robot is ingenious and certainly originates from Japanese culture, which permeates products like these.

There are countless franchises manga, anime and comics where you see similar vehicles like Gundam, Mazinger or to stay in modern times Code Geass where enormous robots known as Knightmare are used by the nation of Britannia to conquer the entire world. With this vehicle you are about to see, perhaps you won’t conquer a country… but you will certainly monopolize everyone’s attention!

Transformers in real life, it’s all true

It was only a matter of time before some Asian or American company put a similar robot into production. In the end, Tsubame Industries, a Japanese company – needless to say – won produced first a real Transformers with an incredible construction. The vehicle with a unit cost of 3 million euros is incredible but above all it was created for a good cause.

The vehicle in question is called Archax from the name of a Cretaceous dinosaur. It’s an android also equipped with wheels, hence the possibility of driving it like a real car, three and a half meters high and weighing over three and a half tons. The cockpit is accessed via a rear hatch, located in the “back” of our blue and yellow iron giant.

In the video below you can get an idea of incredible operational capabilities of the vehicle, a true pioneer in the sector. The maximum speed of only 10 kilometers per hour may not be exciting, but the vehicle was created with the aim of being used to explore space a bit like a modern Lunar Rover or to rescue victims in the event of natural disasters; perhaps, we are on the right track to the arrival of a range of similar androids capable of really making a difference in these fields.
