After the recent release of the album “Free Spirit Soar“, i WARLORD announce a collection of re-recorded songs and rarities entitled “From The Ashes To The Archives – The Hot Pursuit Continues“.
The work will be released on August 23, 2024 For High Roller Records and will contain both rare tracks and pieces originally written in the 80s and published by both LORDIAN GUARD that on the album “Rising Out Of The Ashes” of the WARLORD released in 2002, revisited with the new lineup. On “From The Ashes To The Archives – The Hot Pursuit Continues” there will be guitar and bass parts played and recorded by the late guitarist William J Tsamis.

Singer Giles Lavery declares:
“We wanted to revisit some of the songs on the record ‘Rising Out Of The Ashes‘ with this lineup (and using the guitar and bass tracks of Bill) – to give fans an idea of how these songs will sound live at concerts planned for this year. Please don’t get me wrong, I think that Joacim Cans did a great job on the songs of ‘Rising Out Of The Ashes‘, so these new versions should be seen more as a complement to the 2002 versions, rather than some sort of ‘replacement’.
However, the mixes this time are a little heavier and rougher, and sound-wise they seem closer to the WARLORD of the 80s. Ironically, the ’80s are when most of the songs on this new collection were written, long before they were recorded for LORDIAN GUARD… “Winds Of Thor” for example it was part of the very first demo of the WARLORD of 1982.
It takes a little imagination, but it’s almost as if, in an alternate reality, an EP was released after ‘Deliver Us‘ in 1983 and these songs had been recorded and released in 1986 or so, rather than hearing them for the first time as recordings of LORDIAN GUARD or later as WARLORD in 2002… it’s a look at ‘what could have been’ from a sound point of view.”
The vinyl version of “From The Ashes To The Archives – The Hot Pursuit Continues” will contain eight pieces, while the CD version will contain fourteen.
Giles Lavery declares:
“Tracks 9 through 14 are songs that have appeared on various reissues and compilations over the years, some of which are no longer available. That’s why we wanted to include what we thought were the best of these rarities in the CD version of the collection. Of note are the pre-production tracks of some of the songs on ‘Deliver Us‘ from 1983, recorded a few days before the EP was recorded… so, quality-wise, these tracks are just as good as the ones that ended up on the EP. However, you can hear many differences between the two versions. Furthermore, as mentioned, we wanted to have a special compilation that would be released on the occasion of the live dates that i WARLORD will hold in 2024, something that celebrates both the band’s past and its current lineup.”
