From 04:00 today, Monday 01 July 2024, approximately 70 Carabinieri made 13 arrests as part of the operation called Recoveragainst it Drug dealing and importation and sale of contraband tobacco in Bisceglie: 13 arrests.
The men of the Carabinieri Provincial Command of Barletta-Andria-Trani – assisted in the executive phase by the specialized departments of the Carabinieri Cacciatori Puglia Helicopter Squadron, the 6th Carabinieri Helicopter Unit of Bari and the Dog Unit of Modugno and in collaboration with the Carabinieri Company of Desio (MB), where one of the suspects is located – at the conclusion of complex investigations coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Trani, they are still executing the implementing order of precautionary measureissued by the GIP of the Court of Trani -at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Trani- against 13 suspects (4 in prison; 9 under house arrest)considered seriously suspected, for various reasons, of sale, offer for sale, distribution and marketing of narcotic substances and importationtransportation and sale of contraband foreign manufactured tobacco, which arrived in the port of Bisceglie by sea, on board local fishermen’s boats.
The aforementioned precautionary measures were issued following the investigation called “Recover”, conducted by the soldiers of the Bisceglie Tenenza, starting from June 2022.
