A few days ago, Riccione hosted the Italian Masters Swimming Championships. Over four thousand male and female swimmers showed up at the Stadio del Nuoto in the Romagna town, representing over three hundred clubs from all over Italy with the aim of making a good impression and increasing the consistency of their respective medals. Among them was also a delegation from CSI Prato, which returned home from the highest national stage of the category with two medals. Two bronze medals, to be precise: they were won by Elena Peruzzi in the 100 freestyle and Su Ellen Mannori in the 200 backstroke. These placings, together with those achieved by Anna Manzo, Elena Peruzzi, Matteo Malpaganti, Gianmarco Di Rienzo, Elisa Olivieri, Andrea Traversi, Tommaso Livi, Edoardo Bertolini, Lorenzo Innocenti, Michele Lo Russo, Veronica Bessi, Angelo Lucianò, Stefano Folini Chiara Bonifacio, Laura Ricci and Chiara Cirillo, allowed the Prato club to place seventeenth in the company rankings of category E. Technical director Sergio Puggelli took stock of a season that saw the club win dozens of medals. “We are satisfied with the commitment and passion shown by the athletes during this particularly demanding event – he said – it was the last event of the competitive calendar, demonstrating the good athletic preparation and the strong team spirit that keeps the boys united. Now that the competitive commitments are over, it is time to prepare the company’s activities for the next season which, from now on, is full of interesting challenges and events. We will try to do our best to keep the name of Prato’s master swimming sport high in the context of regional and national events”.
