CHIARA GEMMA ;”EU NOTICES, MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE SOUTH AND CALABRIA”
European funds and European tenders play a fundamental role in the economic and social development of our territories, they represent a key tool for financing projects that improve the quality of life of citizens and support small and medium-sized businesses. Programs such as the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF) have made it possible to build infrastructure, create jobs and support education and training.
For these reasons, once a month MEP Chiara Gemma publishes a newsletter which summarizes the main European, national and regional calls for tenders.
In June and July 2024, the main publications concern a selection to strengthen and consolidate sustainable urban development in EU cities. The funded projects will test innovative solutions in cities to contribute to the green and digital transitions, to explore emerging technologies to improve public services, urban governance, quality of life and citizen engagement. The deadline for applications is 14 October 2024.
Then there is the 2024 call worth 675 million euros, aimed at individual small and medium-sized enterprises, in particular startups and spinouts, to develop and scale high-impact breakthrough innovations capable of creating new markets or disrupting existing ones. Next is the Life call on clean energy transition. The EU Commission has launched 38 calls for proposals worth 571 million euros for projects aimed at advancing the Green Deal for Europe.
For young people there is a call for volunteering and solidarity projects to be carried out in the participant’s country of residence (national activities) or in a country other than the country of residence (cross-border activities).
Then, there is the Town Twinning 2024 call to promote exchanges between people of different countries, cultures, gender and socio-economic contexts, strengthens mutual understanding and tolerance and offers them the opportunity to broaden their perspectives and develop a sense of belonging and European identity.
In addition to these European announcements, which are the most significant of this period, in the newsletter promoted by the Hon. Gemma there are numerous other national announcements and those of the six regions of Southern Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Abruzzo, Calabria and Molise.
