Serramanna – Sardinia Song denounces the exploitation of the island

Sardinia, a popular destination for thousands of tourists, with dream beaches and sea, a hinterland worth visiting, where gastronomy and entertainment reign supreme: but not all that glitters is gold. In the song, a social denunciation is exercised where tourists, but also all listeners, are invited to visit all those places where the exploitation of the territory, of the landscape but also of the local workforce. As in the case of the abandoned mines and buildings of Sulcis-Iglesiente, which have left indelible traces on the landscape physiognomy and above all in the life of the Sardinians. Places like Quirra where military exercises have persisted for 70 years, Teulada and the unexploded bombs on the seabed, the bomb factories in Domusnovas and the polluting ones of Ottana and Sarrock, the abandoned quarries after the gold rush of Furtei. Just to name a few.

«We must fight and oppose to stop yet another attack on our land, they want to pass it off as a just cause for the future. But whose future? Certainly not to preserve our beauty, our thousand-year history and our uniqueness” explains the group’s vocalist.
