From tomorrow to Wednesday, traffic will be suspended on both carriageways in opposite directions in Via Canaletto Sud, in the section between Via Finzi and Via Gorrieri.

The measure is necessary to allow work on a sewer line and an underground telephone line serving the new Esselunga building under construction. The recommended alternative route for those coming from via delle Suore is via Canaletto sud, via Montessori, via Montalcini, via Attiraglio and via Canaletto sud. For those coming from via Montessori, instead, the route for via Fanti and via Canaletto sud is recommended. Parking will be prohibited near and in correspondence with the works, with removal, and the maximum speed limit allowed in the area will be 30 kilometers per hour.

The Esselunga development plan envisages the redevelopment of the former Agricultural Consortium with the construction, by the private sector, in the area between via Fanti and via Canaletto of the sales structure with a maximum surface area of 2,500 square meters which will open by the end of the year, of a multi-storey car park with around 300 parking spaces which will be handed over to the municipal administration (the construction site has already started), of a park and public green areas, as well as a residential area with 174 accommodations, cycle and pedestrian paths, further car parks and road infrastructures serving the sector, including a connecting road between via Canaletto and via Rita Levi Montalcini. As part of the Esselunga project, the construction of the roundabout between via Romania and viale Finzi is also currently underway. The intervention also includes a cycle/pedestrian path which, 3 meters wide, starting south of Via Francia, on the east side of Via Romania, will continue southwards, flank the new roundabout and towards the east will connect to the path created by the Municipality in the area of the suburban tender project and which currently ends just south of where via Finzi makes a 90 degree bend before the ring road underpass; in addition to the adaptation and safety measures of the public transport stops in via Finzi and via Romania, guaranteeing a waiting area for users.

In the area of the former Consorzio Agrario, the municipal authority is instead responsible for the construction of two public residential buildings for 30 apartments, half of which are for young people (the construction site was delivered in January) and a further building with 15 apartments for the police force, and has been entrusted to the urban transformation company Cambiamo spa.
