Mediaset’s attention was also drawn to the post published on Facebook by Asci (Social company for municipalities together as instrumental body of the municipalities of the Lomazzo – Fino Mornasco District) with the subject of the appeal of the Superdistrict Foster Care Service for a very young child: «We need your help. We are looking for a family available to take care of a 2-month-old newborn for a full-time foster care lasting 1 year.”
Shared on several groups, it had received harsh comments including that of Roberto Discalzo, group leader of the opposition list Fino Futura: «Shame! It’s a child, not a cat.”

A story we reported on in Wednesday’s edition of La Provincia, also giving ample space to the version of the District Foster Care Service. The article in our newspaper then spread across various media outlets until the television crew was brought to town on Thursday. Some citizens were interviewed, the parish priest Don Teresio BarbaroDiscalco himself and Sara De Cegliacandidate for city councilor for Fino Futura, president of the #Bambini Strappati Association. The report was broadcast that same evening on Tg4 at 19.
Don Barbaro underlined to the microphones of the news that: «Certainly Facebook is not the right channel to respond to the needs of a child and a family». Discalzo and De Ceglia reiterated their rejection of the method adopted and confirmed their intention to clarify.
De Ceglia on TV: «The child subject of the announcement would have already been placed in foster care before the post: was the appeal only to find other foster families?». A version provided by the Superdistrict Foster Care Service to Tg4 and confirmed to us by Asci. The case does not end here. Yesterday the Fino Futura group leader showed up at the town hall to start the process of accessing the Asci documents. He wants precise answers on two aspects: the origin of the announcement. «Was the child’s family helped with every action before proceeding with foster care?» he asks himself, and understand where the little one is now. The topic could be one of the items on the agenda of the next city council, probably convened by the end of the month.
