After the exciting opening stage last weekend in Terracina, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June the Second stage of the ICS Beach Volley Tour Lazio lands in Maccareseyes Water and salt, an establishment frequented by many Roman beachers. The public for special occasions is expected for two days of great sporting spectacle enriched by music and entertainment, in the tradition of this event now in its twentieth edition, the seventh of the union with the ICS.
“The tour has now become a beautiful tradition and also in this stage the best beachers of our region will compete on the sand, making the event one of the most prestigious in the country”, explains Andrea Burlandi, President of Fipav Lazio. The Maccarese stage, which offers a prize pool of 500 Euros for the winning male and female pairs, will see a large and qualified entry list, as happened in Terracina, where Sanguigni/Balducci won in the women’s and Ceccoli/Santos in the masculine.
In the men’s tournament, 22 couples have registered, a very respectable number for a Roman stage. Among the expected protagonists, Luca Colaberardino stands out, who will try to dominate the scene in a team with Davide Borraccino. Already present in Terracina, therefore ready to collect points for the final ranking, the couples composed of Michele Conrado Veiga Scalera-Diego De Stefano, the latter already CQR Lazio beach in 2019, and those formed by Giovanni Cerbone-Fabio Calcaterra, Antonio Ferrara-Massimo Torregiani, Luca Ciccarelli-Francesco Lelli.
In the women’s tournament, registrations boomed with 21 couples at the start (4 more than the first stage in Terracina). Also competing are three regional champions from past years. They are Michela Culiani (winner in 2018) who will play paired with Elena Dodi, Milena Stacchiotti (champion in 2019) who will compete with Alice Eaco and Giulia Rocci (winner in 2022) who will team with Beatrice Massani. Other couples to keep an eye on, those made up of Alessia Gentili-Claudia Azzutti, Francesca Furlanetto-Michela Sciscione and Sofia De Lillis-Rossella verde. Finally, the couple made up of Sara Porcacchia and Miriam Aromatario, winners of various stages of the Italian youth and school beach volleyball championships in recent years, are also to be feared.
