10 years at the House of the Humiliated

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the reopening in the historic headquarters of the Casa degli Umiliati, i Civic Museums Of Monza They offer a rich programme of cultural activities aimed at a heterogeneous public.

A multidisciplinary journey between art and history

The weekend program includes an immersion in local history and art through a series of diversified initiatives:

  • Exhibition “19th Century Lombardy: Rebellion and Conformism, from Hayez to Previati”: a temporary exhibition that allows you to appreciate the masterpieces of the masters of 19th-century Lombardy, including Hayez, Inganni, Mosè Bianchi and Pompeo Mariani. Saturday 29 June, at 3:30 pm, a thematic guided tour is planned to deepen the analysis of the works.
  • “The museum of wonders”: Sunday 30 June, at 3.30 pm, an interactive educational workshop (“Family Lab”) will involve the younger ones, inviting them to discover the peculiarities of the museum and to try their hand at the role of curators.

Enhancement of assets and new acquisitions

In concomitance with the anniversary, i Civic Museums Of Monza present some recently acquired works, including “Il cavalleggero” by Giovanni Fattori, the “Paesaggio con barche” from the early nineteenth century and two seascapes by Pompeo Mariani. Furthermore, in the oval room it will be possible to admire the swords from the Bronze Age, archaeological finds that attest to the ancient origins of Monza.
