Moments of fear on Friday afternoon, when a local middle-aged lady, while driving her small car along Via Ponte Punzetti da Berra towards Coccanile, ended up in the Canal Bianco. According to initial reconstructions, it seems that the woman, to avoid a pothole – the road has long been heavily criticized for its state of abandonment – invaded the opposite lane and ended up against a tractor that was coming up from a powerful road towards the main one. The impact must have been violent, because the car bounced on the other side and ended up in the canal. The man driving the tractor, also from the area, did not lose heart, he entered the waters, fortunately warm, and helped the lady get out of the car and take it to the embankment, subsequently calling for medical assistance, while the car sank.
