WEATHER FORECAST IN PIEDMONT
PIEDMONT WEATHER – Cloudiness: initially sunny sky; in the morning significant cumulus clouds over the western Alpine arc gradually extending and transferring to the rest of the region. Precipitation: first thunderstorms in the morning in the western Alps, gradually extending to the rest of the Alpine arc, to the adjacent piedmont and flat areas and finally to the entire region with the exception of the southern sectors of the provinces of Asti and Alessandria. Local strong or very strong peaks expected. Freezing temperatures: significantly decreasing at 4000-4200 m in the central-northern sector of the region, still at 4400-4500 m elsewhere. Winds: progressive rotation of winds from the southern quadrants on the reliefs. In the Alps moderate or strong, in the Apennines weak or moderate. In the plains, calm winds in the morning, weak or moderate from the northwest from the afternoon. Strong gusts in correspondence with thunderstorms. Other phenomena: widespread. WEATHER FORECAST
Meteorology, literally “study of celestial phenomena”, is the branch of atmospheric and Earth sciences that studies the physical phenomena that occur in the Earth’s atmosphere (troposphere) and are responsible for weather. Weather forecasts are usually obtained from the following procedure: observation and measurement of atmospheric variables (for example, wind speed and direction, air temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure); transcription, study and processing of data collected on synoptic maps or assimilating the data through mathematical models that run on digital calculators. Where in the latter case the meteorological situation of a given moment is produced, called analysis and future prognosis starting from the synoptic maps. Or by evolving the initial condition through the use of meteorological mathematical models (forecast). The Regional Agency for Environmental Protection of Piedmont is a public body with administrative, technical-legal, patrimonial and accounting autonomy. It is placed under the supervision of the President of the Regional Council to ensure the implementation of the programmatic guidelines of the Piedmont Region in the field of environmental forecasting, prevention and protection.
