It was June from 1964 when a bus with the STAT insignia left for Cattolica on the Adriatic Riviera. The vehicle was a 44-seater Fiat 306, for the time a cutting-edge jewel in terms of technique and comfort, and the travelers also testified that it was not just any journey: the authorities of the Provinces of Vercelli and Pavia, the Directors of Provincial Tourism Board, local journalists and the President of STAT Severino Scagliotti. It was the inaugural journey of a bus connection that would since then inextricably link Eastern Piedmont to the Adriatic Riviera. The following year the start of that line was brought to Biella in the configuration it still has today after 60 years. And a few years later the line was also activated in its definitive guise Aosta – Ivrea – Vercelli – Trino – Casale – Varazze – Sanremo,

The two services resumed in June 2024 with features now well known to the public, including prices which remained substantially unchanged. The line to Sanremo operates 40 stops all seaside resortsof Western Liguria, while the line Biella – Vercelli – Cattolica, after having touched also Mortara, Vigevano and Paviaperformsmore than 35 stops from Lido di Classe to Gabicce. For the people of Casale it is accessible thanks to the Stat shuttle service to Vercelli.

STAT has always entrusted this line with its most comfortable and ecological vehicles (all buses are guaranteed Euro 6), which allow you to comfortably reach all small holiday resorts, without the stress of driving in traffic and parking and without the hassle of changing . And then there are the offers that allow you to further optimize costs: a 25% discount on groups of four people (in practice one travels for free), or 50% discounts for children up to 15 years of age. The offer “A day at the beach” allows the return trip to Liguria for just 28 Euros, while a low cost fare to the Adriatic allows travel for 30 Euros for those who choose the night outward journey.

Departures from Casale for the riviera are from Piazzale Silvio Pia. For Liguria the races become daily from July. For the Adriatic the line has intensified its services in July, arriving at up to five per week, including one at night (Mon, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun outbound and Mon, Thu, Sat morning/afternoon, Sunday return).

Purchasing a ticket is decidedly simple, given the large number of travel agencies you can contact. It is equally practical to do so directly on the Gruppo Stat website www.gruppostat.com, by going to the bus lines page and choosing the day, time and route, or using the application downloadable on your smartphone which also allows other notable advantages, linked to information on the line and even the traceability of the vehicle you want to take.
