The municipal council of San Marcellino has approved the technical-economic feasibility project for the redevelopment of the multi-sports complex in Viale Olimpico. The initiative, promoted by Mayor Anacleto Colombiano, aims to enhance one of the main sports facilities of the Municipality with a total investment of 984,211.69 euros.

The project was drawn up by architect Nicola Di Bello, responsible for the Environment and Heritage area of the municipal body, and aims to improve urban quality, reduce phenomena of social degradation, increase urban safety and spread a culture of respect and social justice through the promotion of sporting activities.

The intervention involves significant improvements that will involve a crucial point for athletics and amateur football in the province of Caserta, making the multi-sports complex a center of excellence for local sport.

“This is the stadium and the only structure that we were unable to adapt to the real needs of the territory,” said Mayor Anacleto Colombiano. “A synthetic turf is planned on the playing field, the restoration of the athletics track, the adaptation of the grandstand, the changing rooms and the toilets, and the redevelopment of the entire sports facility.”

The mayor also recalled a recent event which underlined the need for urgent interventions: “After having played that ‘nostalgic reunion’ match of the former San Marcellino players, we couldn’t sit idle and wait. The pitch is impassable. We have done as always, working hard on all fronts and we will certainly be able to provide a sports facility suited to the times to all those who practice sports in San Marcellino and the surrounding towns.”

In addition to the mayor Anacleto Colombiano, the project was given the OK by the deputy mayor Valeria Campaniello and the councilors Adele Della Corte, Eugenio Maisto and Michele Di Marino.

“This redevelopment represents an important step for our municipality,” added Mayor Colombiano. “It will not only improve existing structures, but will also help create a safer and more inclusive environment for all citizens, promoting fundamental values such as respect and social justice.”
