Urbino .- The evocative combination of art, culture, territory and dance becomes the protagonist in the Marche. After the success of the past years, the review of contemporary dance “La Culla”created in 2016 by Studio Movimento Danza, a dance reality from the Marche region, in collaboration with the Dutch dance company De Dutch Don’t Dance Division (DeDDDD).

The project was interrupted in 2020 following the Pandemic and this year presents a renewed and widespread edition throughout the territory.

Scenario of the shows of the new 2024 edition will be four locations of particular cultural and historical-artistic value in the cities of Fossombrone, Urbino, Macerata Feltria and Acqualagna.

The “La Culla” project is proposed as an ideal container where choreographic creativity comes to lifeto foster a dialogue between the historical-artistic heritage and the universal language of dance. The aim is to spread the culture of dance and promote an accessible and transversal expressive language. The project includes the Forum Dance dance course curated by two Dutch choreographers, Thom Stuart and Rinus Sprong, co-artistic directors of the DeDDDD company, who will lead the training course aimed at involving young dancers from the Marche region. The course will include the experimentation of choreographic forms within monumental sites of the territory and the staging of a production of the contemporary repertoire of Jiri Kylian and an ensemble formed by professional Dutch dancers and young dancers from the Marche region.

The first show entitled “Passion” will be held Thursday 4th July, at 9pma Fossombrone in the evocative setting of the church of San Filippo, a splendid example of baroque architecture and an ideal venue for interacting with expressions of contemporary art. The students of Studio Movimento Danza will perform together with the DeDDDD Company.

Sunday 7 July, at 9pm, the review moves to Urbino, the cradle of the Renaissance, with the “Dream dance” show. The students of Studio Movimento Danza together with the DeDDDD Company and the dancer Luigi Imperato will take the stage of the Sanzio Theater, one of the historic theaters that best synthesizes classical architecture with contemporary architecture. The staging of this show will encourage an interpretation of the places that combines architecture and dance.

The shows in Macerata Feltria and Acqualagna, entitled “The ring” and “Relax, no relax”, are scheduled for autumn, with dates to be defined.
