RECANATI – Arezzo’s Under 15 team stops eleven meters from the championship dream. In Recanati, Peter Peruzzi’s boys were defeated on penalties at the end of a very tight final and after overcoming the first-half deficit in the second half. Pro Sesto is crowned Italian champion, but the honor of arms and applause for an extraordinary season goes to the youngsters of the horse. Coming to the news of the final, it was the Amaranths who had the first opportunity after not even a turn of the clock with Postiglione whose conclusion was blocked by Lini. At the first attack, however, the Lombards passed: in the 6th minute Menotti went down the wing, passing the ball to Farina who unleashed a precise and powerful shot from outside the area which found its way to the left of goalkeeper Rosi. The advantage galvanized Pro Sesto who almost doubled their lead with Ponzo on which Rosi’s intervention was decisive. The first fear sees a dominance of the Lombards who manage possession with the Amaranths struggling to react and appearing in the opponent’s penalty area only in the final minutes of the first half. Meanwhile, the amaranth goalkeeper Rosi had to block Mazzola’s volley just before the break.

In the second half we expect Arezzo’s reaction and instead Pro Sesto comes very close to 2-0 in the 45th minute: a pass from Finocchioli who puts Ponzo in front of the goal who goes past the goalkeeper with a nice lob, but De Luca saves everything on the line . Having escaped the danger, the Amaranths, in the 59th minute, found the equalizer with a great shot from Pianaccioli which gave Lini no chance. Peruzzi’s team increases in tone and in the 64th minute they almost overturn it with De Luca who sends it high from a few steps. In the final, another thrill for the Amaranths: Finocchioli hits the post after a restart. We go to extra time where, however, the result does not change and therefore the championship is decided on penalties where, unfortunately, the error from the spot by the amaranth captain Lobasso is decisive. The party begins for Pro Sesto, Arezzo returns home with a bitter taste in their mouth after a season that will remain in history.
