In the two days of the Absolute Regional Championships in Molfetta where over 400 athletes competed on the track and platforms in the “Saverio Cozzoli” facility, the US Foggia athletes showed all their qualities by winning titles and medals.

In the 110hs Daniele Arcidiacono became regional champion, promising category, who stopped the clocks at a time of 14″66, marking his new personal best. Top step of the podium and regional champion title also went to Adolfo Colasanto (born in 2006), winner in the high jump with a measurement of 1.91 m.

In the women’s discus, the already multi-medalist Martina Lukaszek (born in 2006) got the better of the rest of the discus throwers by throwing the apparatus at 43.70m, winning the title and gold.

Excellent news from Letizia Bruno, in clear recovery, in the 100m with 12″24 and in the 200 with 25″06, silver medal in both races. Sprinter Alessandro Danza also did well, scoring another sub 22″ in the 200m and with a time of 21″97 he took the bronze medal around his neck.

Applause for the women’s 4×400 relay team made up of Aurora Santoro, Ludovica Bacchelli, Maria Prota and Letizia Bruno who stopped the time at 4’17″99.

For the next round the spotlight will be on Daniele Arcidiacono who will take part in the Italian Championships in La Spezia over the weekend.

Very rich spoils also for Puglia Master who, in Rome, won 44 medals on the occasion of the Italian Individual Master Track Championships held in the Paolo Rosi stadium. In the medal count, Puglia has won 18 sometimes the top step of the podium, in another 11 times it was silver while 15 bronze medals were recorded by the Apulian athletes. Among the six new regional category records set in Rome, there is also that of Teresa Marcone from “I Podisti di Capitanata” from Foggia in the 5,000m SF70, first classified with a time of 31.29.73; third step of the podium in two specialties for teammate Daniele Piemontese who won bronze both in the 3000 steeplechase SM40 closing the race in 18.21.32, and in the short handle hammer with the measurement of m. 15.88.

But the Italian Master Championships also included the last stage of the Italian Society of Walking Championships, during which the US Foggia walkers, trained by coach Romeo Tigre, performed well with Angela Bonerba coming in fourth, Rosaria Di Cesare fifth and Elisabetta Traisci seventh. Thanks to these results, the master walkers confirmed their third place in Italy behind Studium et Stadium Sassari and Studio Liberatletica Roma.

Excellent results also in the regional phase of the Coni Trophy, an event for the boys/girls category of multiple events. Numerous athletes from US Foggia have signed their Personal Best in the various disciplines. Victory for Luciano Imbriano in the tetrathlon (60 high weight 600) who thus gets the pass for the National phase of Catania which will be held in September.

Silver for Marta Lusuriello and Nicola Fiore in the 4 events of 60m, vortex, long run and walk. Excellent 5th place for Diana Pagano (60, tall, weight, 600). Vito Levantaci (born in 2012) and Vittoria Buccirosso placed eighth in the 60m, long run, vortex and walk tests.

All the other boys and girls who carried out their four tests also showed great commitment: Anita Tucci, Mariasole Colella, Luigi Colella, Francesco Colella, Francesco Filipponio, Lorenzo Difrancesco and Lorenzo Bonavoglia.
