Ragusa, 26 June. (askanews) – Respecting the environment is of fundamental importance every day more and more and environmental protection also involves paying greater attention to small gestures that can really change the face of our cities and preserve the natural beauty that surrounds us. Precisely for this reason Corepla, the National Consortium for the Collection, Recycling and Recovery of Plastic Packaging presented today in Ragusa the “Italy in a frame” project aimed at raising awareness of the recycling and recovery of plastic packaging among citizens and tourists. We spoke with Giuseppe Ciraolo, Corepla institutional relations manager: “The province of Ragusa is an excellence, it stood at 27 kilos of collection per capita, exceeding the regional and national average. We hope there will be, in fact, a much stronger collaboration with the institutions precisely to raise awareness and continue to talk about the good practices of separate waste collection.

Continue to raise awareness among the community to ensure that the practice of separate waste collection is more present”. This morning in Piazza San Giovanni in Ragusa a real street furniture made of recycled plastic was placed, consisting of a frame and two panels , thanks to the latter it will be possible through the QRCodes present to offer citizens and tourists, in view of the upcoming summer, information on how and when to correctly dispose of plastic packaging present also the mayor of Ragusa Giuseppe Cassì together with the councilor for the environment Mario D’asta, represents a strong signal of credibility and commitment towards the citizens. Giuseppe Cassì, Mayor of Ragusa, then spoke: “Citizens must know how to differentiate in the best possible way, Ragusa is already an averagely virtuous city because we have achieved percentages of separate waste collection that exceed 70% for a city of 75 thousand inhabitants, which is no small feat. We know that we can improve, it is not easy, but with the help of Corepla and everyone else we hope to achieve this result”. The urban furniture of Italy in the frame after the presentation with the following ribbon cutting, will be positioned in the splendid seaside resort of Marina Di Ragusa. But the daily activities do not end here, around 7 pm a second frame will be inaugurated in the municipality of Scicli in the province of Ragusa, with the respective frame and the panels will be placed in via Francesco Mormina. thanks again to the support of the Corepla consortium. “The hope is that thanks to activities like these we will be able to reduce the costs of providing plastic packaging by reducing the cost of the service for citizens. Corepla’s continuous information activity, in this sense, is the best service for users who, thanks to the information window totems, will be able to resolve their doubts on what to give and how” declared the mayor of Scicli Mario Marino. .
