Tomorrow, at the Museo del ‘900 in Mestre, the eighth edition of the “Compraverde Veneto” Forum
VENICE – Tomorrow, 27 June 2024, the Councilor for Budget and Planning of the Veneto Region, Francesco Calzavara, will participate in the eighth edition of the Veneto Green Purchasing Forum. The event will be held at the M9-Museo del ‘900 in Mestre and represents an important annual meeting for public administrations and businesses on the topics of green purchasing, or Green Public Procurement (GPP), and environmental, economic and social sustainability.
Born in 2017, the regional Forum has developed over time, becoming a fundamental day to explore new challenges related to sustainability, both for companies and contracting authorities.
The new Regional Action Plan
The central theme of the initiative will be the new Regional Action Plan, adopted with DGR n. 177 of 27 February 2024. This plan provides for new collaborations between different regional environmental policies, taking advantage of public procurement to enhance them. The planned actions aim to achieve strategic economic objectives, promoting the best environmental technologies and innovation. Furthermore, the plan aims to promote gender and generational equity, remove causes of exclusion for disadvantaged people and protect human rights in supply chains.
Awarding of excellence
Like every year, the forum includes a moment dedicated to the awarding of companies and contracting authorities nominated for the “Compraverde Veneto” Award. This recognition enhances the economic realities of Veneto, both public and private, which are committed to innovating in the public procurement sector and in their production systems, qualifying their supply chains with green products, processes and skills. The award is supported by Unioncamere, Confindustria, Confartigianato and CNA Veneto.
