It seems the time has come for Milan’s transfer market to finally kick into high gear. After a somewhat soporific month of June, in fact, the Rossoneri management will try to land the first shots quickly to give as a gift to Paulo Fonseca, working on the Milanello pitches from 8th July.
Milan, Fofana in pole
First of all, he is getting closer to Milan Youssouf Fofana, French midfielder currently playing for Monaco. The Monegasque club values him at around 25 million eurosbut the CEO Furlani, taking advantage of the 1999-born player’s contract expiring in exactly one year, wants to bring him to Milan for a figure that does not exceed 18 million euros; there is competition, but neither PSG nor some Premier League clubs are as determined as Milan, who would offer the player a starting place as a midfielder in both the 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3. The distance is therefore not insurmountable and, to fill it, the will of Fofana himself could be decisive, currently busy with France at the European Championships. Who will decide his future right at the end of the competition in Germany is Adrien Rabiot. Milan, after having had contact with the mother-agent Veronique, is monitoring the evolution of its relationship with Juventus, which is destined to end due to the non-renewal. It cannot be excluded that, in case of confirmed farewell between Rabiot and the Bianconeri, Milan face one official proposal to the Frenchman to bring him to the Rossoneri on a free transfer. The names of Hojbjerg and Wieffer remain alive for the midfield.

Among Paulo Fonseca’s requests there is also that of a right back. The name at the top of the list is that of Emerson Royal, esterno del Tottenham destined to leave London for a figure around 20 million; the 1999-born player “called” Milan with an interview in recent days, confirming his interest and the negotiation, which, however, should not undergo acceleration before the management of via Aldo Rossi closes the midfielder and the new striker. And here is the thorniest issue. The deal for Zirkzeeto date, is still blocked by agent Kia Joorabchian’s request for 15 million commissions and, in the last few hours, it has become complicated due to rumors from abroad that United are ready to pay the 40 million release clause; Bologna are also interested, still hopeful of being able to keep the Dutch jewel for another year. Watch out for what will happen from July 1st, when it will be possible to take advantage of the aforementioned clause.
