Disinfestation in popular neighborhoods and in the center is scheduled to begin in Marsala with a start expected today. After several complaints from citizens and commercial operators, who reported the presence of cockroaches and mice around the city, the Department of Urban Hygiene, directed by Giacomo Tumbarello, ordered rodent control and disinfestation from the company responsible for carrying out the interventions. We start today from the historic and urban center with rodent control, and then continue tomorrow in the popular neighborhoods of Sappusi, Amabilina and via Istria.
On 2 and 3 July the disinfestation of the wells and the sewerage network in the neighborhoods and in the urban center will take place, while on the 4 and 5 July environmental disinfestation will be carried out throughout the municipal territory. Two further reclamation cycles will then be carried out in early August and mid-September. Although all interventions will be carried out in compliance with current regulations on the matter, residents will have to close the windows, not expose food substances (including aromatic plants) or clothing outdoors, and to pay attention during disinfestation which, starting from 11 pm, it will continue until the early hours of the following morning. The company in charge has the obligation to place suitable information signs along the streets involved in the service, indicating the days and times of the scheduled interventions.
