Last days to participate in the “Paolo Mercuri” Scholarship. Sunday, June 30 will be the deadline for sending applications for access to the project that combines sport and education, born from the collaboration between Pallavolo Macerata and Banca Macerata.
The initiative is in its second edition and is aimed at all students of the Macerata Schools and is named after Paolo Mercuri, a friend of Pallavolo Macerata, scout man and coach of the red and white team, who tragically passed away three years ago.
The “Paolo Mercuri” sports and school scholarship provides for the awarding of two scholarships, each worth 500 euros, intended for students involved in sport, who have distinguished themselves for the results obtained at school and in sporting activity in the 2023/2024 school year. All students enrolled in first and second level secondary schools in the Municipality of Macerata who are athletes, amateur or professional, of any category of one or more sports, regularly registered, will have access to the “Paolo Mercuri” sports and school scholarship. to a sports club or association recognized by CONI, and who have participated in sporting activities at least in the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 school years.
The assignment criterion will take into account the academic performance for the year 2023/2024, sporting results and conduct both at school and during sports practice. The assignment of the two grants will be divided into a grant for a student of one of the lower secondary schools in the Municipality of Macerata, and a grant for a student of one of the upper secondary schools. The prizes will consist of gift cards that can be spent in all the shops in the Val di Chienti shopping center in Piediripa di Macerata.
The initiative was born with the aim of supporting and encouraging sport among young people, reconciling competitive sport practice with study activities. In fact, the behavior in both the academic and sports fields will also constitute an additional selection criterion. The winners of the project will be announced by October 2024 at the Banca Macerata headquarters, in Contrada Acquevive 20/A in Macerata.
