GALLARATE – «Sport has the power to arouse emotions, to awaken hope where previously there was despair and confusion.” In this spirit the Gallarate tennis club organizes the sixth national wheelchair tennis tournament Circuito Lab 3.11.
The tournament
From the 27th to 30th June For the sixth consecutive year, the Gallarate Tennis Club will host high-level athletes from all over Italy who will compete for the Banca Generali Private Trophy in singles and doubles matches.
The club is ready with the organization, providing a staff of volunteers in addition to the free physiotherapy service. «We thank Coni, the Municipality of Gallarate and the Chamber of Commerce who sponsored the event and to all the sponsors who strongly believe in the wheelchair tennis project, thanks to which the athletes received considerable relief on hotel rates in the province and a prize fund total of 2000 euros”, he explained Luisa Parasacchi, vice president of the Tcg during the presentation press conference. «Special thanks to Unitalsi, a voluntary association that will take care of the transport of the athletes».
The management of the tournament is entrusted to Lucky Di Fronzoa person with great human and tennis experience, supported by the referee Roberto Conconi. The mayor of Gallarate attended the presentation Andrea Cassanithe sports councilor Claudia Mazzetti, the referee Roberto Conconi, the tournament director Fortunato Di Fronzo as well as the representative of the Italian Regional Wheelchair Tennis Federation Walter Schmidinger, Mario Comelli and Alfredo Cesario of Banca Generali Private, the councilor for the Participates Corrado Canziani, Lisa Tondini of Varese Turismo and the President of the Tourist Consortium of the province of Varese Massimo Grignani. Also in the room were Alberto Moja and Viviana Barile representing the wheelchair athletes of the Gallarate Tennis Club with the wheelchair tennis instructors Gianluca Pulcrano and Andrea Manzato and the athletic trainer Andrea Venzi.

«Sport for people with motor difficulties represents a school of life that never stops teaching new rules, being with others, sharing them and fighting to achieve difficult but not impossible goals», explained the organizers. «This is the philosophy with which last year we wanted to open a school in our club of wheelchair tennis. We made ourselves available to create a better future for them. We will never stop thanking those who believed in our project, Banca Generali Private first and foremost, the president Sergio Tamborini, the board, the secretariat, the director of the Fortunato club and all the masters staff who immediately participated in its success.”
