Mayor Mascia meets President Todde

«To put in place all the financial and planning resources necessary to finally give legs to the project of the metropolitan city of Sassari, waiting for its existence to be formalised, and to allow North West Sardinia to recover the lost ground in terms of development, employment and well being”. It is the heart of the institutional agreement reached today by the mayor of Sassari, Giuseppe Mascia, at the end of the meeting he had in Cagliari with the president of the Region, Alessandra Todde, together with the mayor of Alghero, Raimondo Cacciotto.

The first official summit with Todde by the two mayors elected last June 9th focused on some priorities that formed the basis of an electoral campaign in which Mascia and Cacciotto often spoke and reasoned in unison. Even with the result achieved, the two reiterated to the governor of Sardinia that they “firmly believe in the importance of the institution of the metropolitan city, with the involvement of all the mayors of the territory and the entire community”.

In addition to discussing the funds expected from the metropolitan network and other pre-existing financing lines – starting from the ERDF Funds – Alessandra Todde, Giuseppe Mascia and Raimondo Cacciotto then concentrated on two themes in particular: local healthcare, starting from the of the new hospitals and the rapid convening of the socio-health conference of the Province of Sassari, and the revision of the public transport system based on the metro-tramway, capable of connecting the various urban centers with each other and with the port of Porto Torres and Fertilia airport. «We want to give substance to that project of change that we have hoped for and to which we have committed ourselves towards our community», comments Giuseppe Mascia.
