The Mayor of Cosenza: every development hypothesis for Calabria and the entire South is based on rapid and efficient connections
“For this reason we cannot give up high speed through an internal route that brings together the main localities of the area to enhance their peculiarities and characteristics”.
This was stated by the mayor of Cosenza, Franz Caruso, who, in agreement with the technical/political committee for the Calabria high-speed train, made public the report presented in recent days at the MIT.
“The initial barycentric route projected towards Cosenza and the Ionian coast, more accessible from Castrovillari and the Pollino area continues Franz Caruso – is a strategic choice that we cannot give up. With this belief, together with the mayors Domenico Lo Polito, Virginia Mariotti, Pino Capalbo, Roberto Ameruso Gianni Papasso and the technicians Demetrio Festa, Roberto Musmanno, Luigi Martirano, Giuseppe Lo Feudo, we have created a technical-political committee to raise awareness of institutions and public opinion on this issue, but also to propose shared solutions.
From this perspective, the Committee carried out an in-depth analysis of the various project alternatives proposed by RFI, and produced a summary document, submitted to the national political authorities, for the search for a solution to the problems functional to the progress of the whole of Calabria on which we await answers ”.
