Pescara, murder in Baden Powell park: 16-year-old stabbed to death. Two high school students of the same age arrested: “One is the son of a police sergeant”

A thin little boy, thrown face down on the ground among the tall grass. He was only 16 years old. Her name was Christopher Thomas Luciani and on Sunday evening he closed his eyes forever in a desolate panorama, between the railway walls and the weeds of the park «Baden Powell» (the founder of scouting, by the way), in the center of Pescara. From the first police checks it appears that he had had some minor problems with drugs in the past.

And it is perhaps precisely for this reason that on Sunday evening he had a fight with two kids of the same age as him, who ultimately killed him. The first findings speak of a debt of 200-250 eurosbut here too: everything is still under investigation.

The furious argument, we were saying. One stab wound, two, three… until he fell lifeless into the weeds. Hit at least 20 times. If you look for something about his past on the web, the only pages you find are those from a year ago: he had run away from home and his parents had raised the alarm, information had arrived from the prefecture, the carabinieri and the police about that little boy to look for. About 5 feet 6 inches, small, brown eyes, hair shaved on the sides and a quiff. This can also be seen in the widespread photo at the time, the black and white face that looks like that of a child.

This time Christopher had been missing since Friday evening. It seems he was in a community in Campobasso, where he ended up after getting into trouble for the umpteenth time. He had a permit to go out and attend a vocational course. But in that community on Friday evening no one saw him return.

What he did between that Friday evening and Sunday is still being ascertained. What is certain is that on Sunday evening he was at the “Baden Powell” park with the two peers, who were arrested a few hours later.

They are two teenagers, both high school students, children of well-known families in the area: one is that of a carabinieri marshal; the other that of a professional registered with the Bar Association, but who for years has dedicated herself to teaching (contrary to what was reported in the first hours, in which reference was made to a “well-known lawyer in the area”).

The two were questioned by the investigators, in front of whom they did not show any sign of emotion: no tears, no repentance. So much so that the police station said that they would not have realized the “disvalue” of their gesture.

According to initial findings, after the crime, the two alleged murderers went to swim in the sea. There they also got rid of the knife, which has not yet been found.

When 118 received the call around 9pm, the young man was already dead: Repeated attempts to resuscitate him were in vain. It seems that he was the one who called for help a boy who had spent part of the afternoon and evening with the two arrested. She must have realized the gravity of what happened and called to have the body found.

The investigations are coordinated by the Pescara Police and the case, initially followed by chief prosecutor Giuseppe Bellelli was then passed on to the head of the juvenile prosecutor’s office David Mancini.
