departure from the railway, four rides to start

Ready to fly but also to travel on wheels untilAmalfi Coast airport. The countdown for the final take-off of the Pontecagnano airport (with the opening scheduled for 11 July) has started but also the work to refine the last details and precautions especially on the connections that will start from Salerno to guarantee tourists and citizens of the capital to reach the destination in comfort, using the means made available – albeit on an experimental basis – by Busitalia in collaboration with the Municipality of Salerno.

PLAN

After having put the taxi service in black and white, with the signature a Palazzo Sant’Agostino and the commitment ofThe trade councilor Dario Loffredo together with the mayors of the neighboring municipalities “touched” by the airport, road transport is also ready to cover the kilometres. And so, with the mobility councilor Rocco Galdiafter various meetings and above all inspections it was possible to set up the connection with a special shuttle and a dedicated stop from the railway station in Piazza Vittorio Veneto up to the Amalfi Coast. We will start next week, presumably after the municipal council will have to give the OK to the small maintenance works and the installation of the bus stop pole where the indication sign will be posted. The pole will be placed near the existing Busitalia one but the totally red “shuttle” will presumably indicate on the side the precise route “Salerno-Amalfi Coast airport”. We start from Thursday 11 July with the first departure from 6.40am with arrival at the airport at 7.20am, departure from Pontecagnano at 9.40am and departure towards Salerno at 10.20am with departure at 12pm and last ride from the airport at 2.35pm. The bus will stop shortly before departure 10 minutes. The service, at a cost of 5 euros, includes 2 trips per day and 3 on Saturdays, with the times identified to coincide with the flights currently scheduled and ready to vary based on further programming. The Municipality of Salerno and the sector led by Galdi have the responsibility of installing the stop and restoring the horizontal signs, now faded over time, so as to allow the parking and stop area to be better identified to guarantee the safety of passengers and passers-by. A partnership in the name of teamwork which saw the involvement of the municipality of Salerno with the Campania region and all the protagonists of a story that is about to become reality and with the president of the transport commission Luca Cascone from Palazzo Santa Lucia particularly busy on the connections front.
