Bishops and 800 catechists from all over the island in Caltanissetta, Gisana: «Let life be a testimony of faith to speak to the hearts»


Caltanissetta – Hundreds gathered in the “heart of Sicily” from all over the island. All arrived at the regional gathering of catechists which took place in Caltanissetta. A “two day” event attended by eight hundred or so , coming from all over Sicily. The appointment was organized by the Regional Office for Catechesis of the Sicilian Episcopal Conference.

«Listening, communication and languages: evangelizing in the Sicilian context», the theme of the meeting divided between moments of discussion and sharing with priests from the various island dioceses, as well as reflection and study with the catechistic groups of the eighteen Sicilian dioceses.

Present were Monsignor Mario Russotto, bishop of Caltanissetta, the bishop of Acireale and president of Cesi, Antonino Raspanti and the bishop of Piazza Armerina, Rosario Gisana.

For all participants, the opportunity to attend thematic workshops, conferences, as well as moments of reflection and prayer.
«We reflected on communication and learning the new languages ​​of life – explained Bishop Gisana – in the context of the Christian faith. The Holy Spirit is the guide and author of our history, even in moments of difficult communicative understanding…. the existence of every person is a living prophecy and a message of salvation through personal and community experience… Jesus, who spoke the language of his time and transmitted messages of faith, invites us to do the same… our life must be a testimony of faith, capable of speaking to people’s hearts”, thus the bishop addressing the catechists

On the topic «Artificial intelligence and digital witnesses. Between content and testimony”, Marco Tibaldi, trainer, consultant of the national catechetical office and director of the Institute of Religious Sciences of Bologna, the director of the national catechetical office of the Italian Episcopal Conference, Monsignor Valentino Bulgarelli and the director of L’Osservatore Romano, Andrea Monda.
