Midfield almost completely revolutionized (but without official names), confirmations for the defenders Monticone and Diana and for the goalkeeper Ricco and new technical sponsor, with renewed shirts and castle and cornflower in evidence. Prato’s first official conference, for the 2024-2025 Serie D season, certainly did not satisfy the itches and curiosities of the many fans who for weeks had been clamoring for official information from the Biancazzurro headquarters and added little to what was already was leaked unofficially. In the conference, the new sporting director, Gianluca Berti, the president Stefano Commini and the confirmed coach Maurizio Ridolfi deliberately chose not to mention names. In addition to the few confirmations granted, the certainty is that Bigonzoni will not remain in Prato given that Cremonese has stepped forward.

“We will wait, as is right, for July 1st to start talking about concrete things, with the signatures deposited – explains Berti -. We are setting up a competitive team and contacting first-tier players, with the intention of trying to make a top championship. I don’t like to talk when things aren’t done 100%, with a signature in black and white. We had signed an important player, he shook our hands and behaved differently, so it’s right that he goes to play elsewhere, too because here we only want motivated people.”

President Stefano Commini is still trying to reassure the Wool supporters and just yesterday he met with Zenith Prato to discuss Lungobisenzio’s availability in the event of their repechage in Serie D: “I confirm my intention to relaunch. I have created a technical-sporting staff with a strong Prato background and I see greater chemistry than last season. When the first names come out, it will be clear what kind of team we are building – he adds -. I have made available to the sporting director the means to try to have an excellent championship. We will start again from a consolidated backbone, which includes coach Ridolfi and his staff, after the excellent work done in the second part of last season. The midfield will be the most revolutionized department”.

Among the official news, therefore, the new technical sponsor, which will be Mizuno (instead of Kappa). The retreat in Porretta Terme has also been confirmed, from 29 July to 4 August, while the meeting point for the first tests is set at Lungobisenzio from 25 July. For the first time, Mister Ridolfi will have the chance to start with a team shaped according to his wishes: “I’m looking for flexible players, able to propose multiple modules. Basically we will review the three-man defense, which however can also switch to four in some circumstances. On the sidelines we would like to insert the quotas, boys from 2006 of a certain level who should arrive from Empoli and Fiorentina”, explains the Prato coach.
