The University of Padua is among the top 200 universities in the world in the ranking “The” University Impact Rankingsdeveloped by the Times Higher Education (The) agency which photographs the ability of universities to contribute to the achievement of the UN’s sustainable development goals.

«This year», comments Mara Thiene, the rector’s delegate for Joint degrees and international rankings, «our university ranks in the top 50 positions in the world in three areas: the sustainability of cities and communities, the primary mission of teaching activity and aspects of health and social well-being. The data requested by the ranking agency are of a statistical nature and mainly based on quantitative evidence, such as scientific publications, reports of activities carried out or ongoing projects, with important support from the designated offices. Beyond the prestige linked to good positioning, the internal information collection activity is strategic for the governance of the University, both for monitoring the status quo and grounding of policies, and for the evaluation of the results obtained against of human and financial resources used with a view to planning and forecasting”.

And he concludes: «The objective is to evaluate the quality of the service offering, containing costsin order to make an excellent university path accessible to an increasingly large number of students”.

In the Sustainable Cities and Communities objective, Padua ranks 15th in the world, with an improvement of 39 positions compared to the 2023 edition; in the Quality of teaching it ranks 35th, confirming last year.

It is also confirmed among the top 200 universities in three fields in the world for its own commitment to the theme of gender equalitywhich evaluates university policies in promoting access to and support for the academic progression of women, in the Decent Work and Economic Growth objective and in the Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure objective.
